Protect Your Vehicle's Paint with the Get Mounted PPF Circle
The Get Mounted Paint Protective Circle (PPF) is a simple but essential accessory for anyone using the Starlink Mini Magnetic Mount on a vehicle. The magnetic mount is incredibly strong — and without protection, repeated attachment and removal can cause micro-scratches or swirl marks on your paintwork over time. The PPF circle sits between the magnet and your vehicle's surface, acting as a sacrificial layer to keep your paint looking factory-fresh.
What's Included
- Get Mounted PPF Circle (pre-cut to fit the Starlink Mini Magnetic Mount)
What You'll Need
- Clean microfibre cloth
- Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or panel wipe
- Your vehicle surface (roof, bonnet, or any steel panel)
Step 1 – Clean the Surface
Before applying the PPF circle, thoroughly clean the area where your magnetic mount will sit:
- Wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol or panel wipe using a clean microfibre cloth.
- Remove all dust, wax, grease, and contaminants.
- Allow the surface to dry completely before proceeding.
Tip: Avoid applying in direct sunlight or on a hot surface — find a shaded spot for best adhesion.
Step 2 – Peel the PPF Circle
- Carefully peel the PPF circle from its backing.
- Handle by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the adhesive side.
Step 3 – Apply the PPF Circle
- Position the PPF circle on the cleaned surface where your magnet will sit.
- Press firmly from the centre outward to remove any air bubbles.
- Run your fingernail or a soft card around the edges to ensure full adhesion.
Tip: Take your time with placement — once applied, repositioning may reduce adhesion.
Step 4 – Allow to Bond
For best results, allow the PPF circle to bond to the surface for at least 30 minutes before attaching the magnetic mount. This ensures maximum adhesion and protection.
Step 5 – Attach Your Magnetic Mount
Once the PPF circle is firmly in place, attach your Starlink Mini Magnetic Mount as normal. The PPF layer will protect your paint from the magnet while maintaining a strong, secure hold.
Maintenance Tips
- Inspect the PPF circle periodically for lifting edges — press back down if needed.
- Clean around the PPF circle when washing your vehicle.
- Replace the PPF circle if it becomes damaged or loses adhesion.
- Available as a replacement from Get Mounted.
